<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nThere are two really great ways to automatically save email attachments to a cloud storage service. The first one we\u2019ll look at uses the file storage service Koofr to both auto-save and store the attachments; it works from any email but your files can only be saved to Koofr\u2019s storage service.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other method is a bit more flexible in that you can pick a different cloud storage service, but it doesn\u2019t work with all email providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Using Koofr To Auto-Save Email Attachments<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n- Visit Koofr<\/a> and make a new account. You can do so with your email address or Google account.<\/li>
- Go to Add <\/strong>> Create folder<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n- Name it something about attachments, because this is where all your email attachments will be gathered.<\/li>
- Hover your mouse over the new folder to find a button called Share<\/strong>. Select it, and then choose Receive files<\/strong>.<\/li>
- Pick Never<\/strong> in the expiration section.<\/li>
- Copy the email address at the bottom and then select OK<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

- In Gmail, you can do this by entering the Koofr email into the forwarding settings in your Gmail account<\/a>. After confirming that the email address is yours, select the arrow next to the search bar and marking Has attachment<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>
- From there, choose Create filter <\/strong>and then Forward it to<\/strong> <Koofr email address>.<\/li>
- Select Create filter<\/strong> to turn it on.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nAll your attachments are stored in the folder you made above. Something to know about this procedure is that the emails are stored, too, not just file attachments. So it works as an email backup service too.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, you can\u2019t choose to save only the attachments, so the folder could get cluttered fairly quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Automatically Saving Email Attachments With Zapier<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n- Open the new Zap page<\/a>. If you\u2019re not logged in, you\u2019ll have an opportunity to make an account.<\/li>
- Choose your email provider in the first text box (Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, and others are supported) and then New Attachment<\/strong> in the second one, followed by Continue<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

- Pick a label to save attachments only if the email is labeled with the one you choose, or pick Inbox and All Labels<\/strong> to save every attachment regardless of how it\u2019s labeled. <\/li>
- You can also use this screen to force the attachment saving to take place only if the email matches a specific search. For example, to auto-save attachments from a specific person, you\u2019d enter from:person@example.com<\/strong>. <\/li>
- Press Continue<\/strong> when finished.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

- Find and select the cloud service you want to save email attachments to. Popular ones like OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Box are supported.<\/li>
- Under Choose Action Event<\/strong>, select what should happen. We\u2019re using Google Drive for this example, so we\u2019ll choose Upload File<\/strong>. <\/li>
- Press Continue<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

Other Email Attachment Saving Methods<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nZapier and Koofr are the best ways to automatically save email attachments to a cloud storage service, but we shouldn\u2019t overlook other, not-so-automatic methods that are built right into some email provider websites.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- With Gmail, for example, you can hover your mouse over an attachment and choose Save to Drive<\/strong> to instantly transfer it to Google Drive. <\/li>
- If you\u2019re on Outlook.com, select the cloud icon that shows up on attachments to save the file to OneDrive. <\/li>
- Yandex.Mail users can open an attachment and select save to Yandex.Disk<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

It takes a few clicks but still beats downloading the attachment and uploading it to the file storage site manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are three extensions you can install to Chrome to make this work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- Save Emails to Dropbox<\/a><\/li>
- Save Emails to Google Drive<\/a><\/li>
- Save Emails to OneDrive<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
