But doing it manually is not a fun process, you\u2019re likely to miss a few over time, and you\u2019ll use up valuable storage on your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What you can do instead is set up your email to automatically save attachments to an online file storage service. The first one we\u2019ll look at uses the file storage service Koofr to both auto-save and store the attachments; it works from any email but your files can only be saved to Koofr\u2019s storage service.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other method is a bit more flexible in that you can pick a different cloud storage service, but it doesn\u2019t work with all email providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Using Koofr To Auto-Save Email Attachments<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/koofr.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Visit Koofr<\/a> and make a new account. You can do so with your email address or Google account.<\/li><li>Go to <strong>Add <\/strong>> <strong>Create folder<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"570\" height=\"234\" src=\"https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/koofr-new-folder.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-66166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/koofr-new-folder.png 570w, https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/koofr-new-folder-300x123.png 300w, https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/koofr-new-folder-80x33.png 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Name it something about attachments, because this is where all your email attachments will be gathered.<\/li><li>Hover your mouse over the new folder to find a button called <strong>Share<\/strong>. Select it, and then choose <strong>Receive files<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Pick <strong>Never<\/strong> in the expiration section.<\/li><li>Copy the email address at the bottom and then select <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"584\" height=\"602\" src=\"https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/koofr-receive-files.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-66167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/koofr-receive-files.png 584w, https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/koofr-receive-files-291x300.png 291w, https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/koofr-receive-files-49x50.png 49w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to your email provider\u2019s website and set up automatic forwarding for any emails that have attachments.\u00a0<\/li><li>In Gmail, you can do this by entering the Koofr email into the <a href=\"https:\/\/mail.google.com\/mail\/u\/0\/#settings\/fwdandpop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">forwarding settings in your Gmail account<\/a>. Something to know about this procedure is that the emails are stored, too, not just file attachments. So it works as an email backup service too.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, you can\u2019t choose to save only the attachments, so the folder could get cluttered fairly quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Automatically Saving Email Attachments With Zapier<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open the <a href=\"https:\/\/zapier.com\/app\/editor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">new Zap page<\/a>. Press <strong>Continue<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Pick a label to save attachments only if the email is labeled with the one you choose, or pick <strong>Inbox and All Labels<\/strong> to save every attachment regardless of how it\u2019s labeled. <\/li><li>You can also use this screen to force the attachment saving to take place only if the email matches a specific search. Popular ones like OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Box are supported.<\/li><li>Under <strong>Choose Action Event<\/strong>, select what should happen. The message won\u2019t be marked as read and the attachment and\/or message won\u2019t be deleted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Other Email Attachment Saving Methods<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Zapier and Koofr are the best ways to automatically save email attachments to a cloud storage service, but we shouldn\u2019t overlook other, not-so-automatic methods that are built right into some email provider websites.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>With Gmail, for example, you can hover your mouse over an attachment and choose <strong>Save to Drive<\/strong> to instantly transfer it to Google Drive. <\/li><li>If you\u2019re on Outlook.com, select the cloud icon that shows up on attachments to save the file to OneDrive. <\/li><li>Yandex.Mail users can open an attachment and select <strong>save to Yandex.Disk<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"502\" height=\"299\" src=\"https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/gmail-save-attachment-to-drive.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-66173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/gmail-save-attachment-to-drive.png 502w, https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/gmail-save-attachment-to-drive-300x179.png 300w, https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/gmail-save-attachment-to-drive-80x48.png 80w, https:\/\/www.online-tech-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/gmail-save-attachment-to-drive-70x43.png 70w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 502px) 100vw, 502px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Another method involves cloudHQ.
