Reddit.com might call itself the \u201cfront page of the internet,\u201d but for whom? According to a 2021 digital trends report<\/a> from HootSuite and We Are Social, most Reddit users are male. Only slightly over 37% of Reddit\u2019s approximately 52 million daily users are women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That might be off-putting for some women. However, we\u2019ve found that if you expand your Reddit reach beyond the default subreddits, you\u2019ll find a subreddit for virtually every community you can imagine, including many that women might find both interesting and supportive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Does \u201cFor Women\u201d Mean, Anyway?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As you might imagine, people share many interests and use the internet for the same reasons regardless of gender. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We search for information. We stay in touch with our loved ones. We keep up with the news and learn how to do new things. We watch movies<\/a> and television, listen to music<\/a>, and play games<\/a>. These are our interests regardless of gender.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having said that, the list below does include subreddits that are expressly for women, in addition to some that we just think a lot of women might like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.\u00a0 r\/TwoXChromosomes<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

TwoX says it\u2019s \u201ca subreddit for both serious and silly content, and intended for women’s perspectives.\u201d\u00a0 Moderators keep an eye on posts ensuring a \u201crespect, equanimity, grace, and relevance\u201d and say that Redditors who display hatred, bigotry, racism, misogyny, misandry, transphobia, or homophobia will earn bans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TwoX is a very large subreddit with over 13 million subscribers, but some complain that it has become one of the more increasingly negative as it\u2019s gotten bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. r\/TrollXChromosomes<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

TrollXChromosomes, \u201cA subreddit for rage comics and other memes with a girly slant,\u201d has a much smaller audience than TwoX\u2014about 823,000 people. Allowable submissions include high-quality gifs, pics, and memes. This sub was created after r\/TwoXChromosomes became one of the default subreddits, which led to a heavy influx of men. You\u2019ll find fewer men commenting in r\/TrollXChromosomes and many more memes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. r\/AskReddit<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Visit one of the most popular subreddits, r\/AskReddit, to ask and answer thought-provoking questions. For many women who started working from home and won\u2019t be returning to the office any time soon, this subreddit isn\u2019t as relevant as it used to be. The same could be said about r\/FemaleFashionAdvice<\/a>. If you\u2019re mostly in virtual meetings, a Zoom mullet<\/a> is all you need! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The more women that participate, the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. r\/PersonalFinance<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to this Gallup poll from 2019<\/a>, women are more likely than men to pay the household bills, but less likely to make decisions about savings or investments. However, that\u2019s just among heterosexual couples who are married or living together.
