As a TikTok user<\/a>, you probably watch many videos that you enjoy. But what if you forget to like, favorite, or comment on a video that you love? Using the Watch History on TikTok, you can go back in time.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you turn on the TikTok Watch History, you can access those videos<\/a> you\u2019ve viewed in the past seven days any time you like. If you want to keep a copy of your Watch History, we\u2019ll also show you how to download it.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of this writing, November 2022, the Watch History feature is only available in the TikTok mobile app on Android and iPhone, not the web application.\n<\/p>\n\n\n

Use the TikTok Watch History Feature\n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You can enable Watch History for TikTok on Android<\/a> or iPhone<\/a> in just a few taps.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open the TikTok app on your device and head to the Profile<\/span> tab.\n<\/li>
  2. Tap the three lines<\/span> in the top right corner to view the menu and select Settings and privacy<\/span> in the pop-up window.\n<\/li>
  3. In the Content & Display<\/span> section, pick Watch history<\/span>.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

    1. The first time you access your Watch History, you may see a pop-up message about the feature. This lets you know that the feature is turned on and that you can turn it off in the Watch history settings. Tap OK<\/span>.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

      1. If you don\u2019t see the pop-up message, select the gear<\/span> icon on the top right of your watched videos. Then, turn on the toggle for Watch history<\/span>.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

        You can then select any video you see in your history to watch it again, add it to your favorites, or make a comment; just like you\u2019re watching it for the first time.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Clear Your Watch History\n<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

        The TikTok Watch History can fill up quickly if you view a lot of videos in a day. You can clear the history in the Watch History settings if you like.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Go to the Profile<\/span> tab, select the three-line<\/span> menu on the top right, and choose Settings and privacy<\/span>.\n<\/li>
        2. Pick Watch History<\/span> and tap the gear<\/span> icon on the top right.\n<\/li>
        3. Select Clear history<\/span> in the pop-up menu at the bottom.\n<\/li>
        4. Confirm this action by selecting Clear<\/span>.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

          Use the TikTok Search Filter\n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          If you want a quick and easy way to see a certain video in your Watch History, you can do so using the TikTok search filter feature in the mobile app.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Visit the Home<\/span> tab and tap the magnifying glass<\/span> button at the top to open the Search tool.\n<\/li>
          2. Enter a search term for the video into the box at the top and select Search<\/span>. To find all videos, enter an asterisk (*) into the Search bar instead.\n<\/li>
          3. Tap the filter<\/span> icon that displays on the right of the Search box.\n<\/li>
          4. Turn on the toggle at the top of the filters for Watched videos<\/span>.\n<\/li>
          5. Optionally, you can select an option in the Date posted<\/span> section and pick a sort preference at the bottom.\n<\/li>
          6. Select Apply<\/span>.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

            You should then see those videos you\u2019ve watched related to your search term display.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Download Your TikTok Data\n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            If you want to hold onto a copy of your Watch History, you can download your TikTok profile data which includes a text file of your Browsing History. Luckily, this feature is available in both the mobile app and web application<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Note<\/span>: As you\u2019ll see when you request your data in both locations below, it can take a few days for you to receive the file. Additionally, the data file will be available for you to download for up to four days.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Download TikTok Data in the Mobile App\n<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
            1. Open TikTok and go to the Profile<\/span> tab.\n<\/li>
            2. Tap the three lines<\/span> on the top right and pick Settings and privacy<\/span>.\n<\/li>
            3. Select Account<\/span> and then Download your data<\/span>.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

              1. On the Request data<\/span> tab, you\u2019ll see a list of the data you\u2019ll receive.\n<\/li>
              2. Choose whether you\u2019d like a TXT or JSON file.\n<\/li>
              3. Tap Request data<\/span>.\n<\/li>
              4. You can head to this same location in the settings and go to the Download data<\/span> tab to obtain your ZIP file. In the meantime, you\u2019ll see your request is Pending.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

                Download TikTok Data on the Web\n<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                1. Sign in on the TikTok website<\/a>, select your profile picture<\/a> on the top right, and pick Settings<\/span>.\n<\/li>
                2. On the left, choose Manage account<\/span>.\n<\/li>
                3. On the right, select Download your data<\/span> in the Privacy<\/span> section.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

                  1. Open the Request data<\/span> tab and you\u2019ll see a brief description of the data you\u2019ll receive. \n<\/li>
